The Brickmaker

As you know, the brickmaker makes bricks. The brickmaker would start to make the bricks out of clay, and at the end, the bricks made by the brickmakers would be fired in the kiln. Many events would happen during this brick making "business", such as the process of mixing clay, cleaning clay, taking the bricks to the brick yard, and putting the bricks inside the kilns to bake.

Many people who worked as brickmakers were slaves or servants. If the master brickmaker ever needed extra help, he could always bail someone out of jail and force them to work. They received one meal a day, and it was usually corn meal and bread.

The first step of the brickmaking process was to gather the clay and mix it up by stepping in it. This was rather a very disgusting view, actually that's just our opinion.

Once the clay was clean enough, it was formed into bricks. The brickmaker would roll it and then put it in a mold. The mold gave the brick its shape.

Sometime in the middle of the brickmaking process, the bricks would be taken to the area where the bricks would dry in the sun until they were hard enough to handle.

The brickyard was the place the bricks were placed for the last time until it was time for them to go into the kiln.

The kiln was the final destination for the bricks. This was when and where the bricks would get fired.
